MOTORCYCLE SIDE BAGS IN LEATHER "VERONA MODEL"
Hardly anyone knows that the bag, which in the popular imagination refers to women, was actually born
as a purely masculine accessory, to contain money and small precious objects. The first leather pouches
were in fact made by leather craftsmen or saddlers to use them for their commercial activity.
In our case, we make the bags for bikers, whether men or women.
Today we see how a coat of genuine top quality leather is transformed into a beautiful biker bag.
First of all, starting from the patterns previously made in the study of the creation of the leather goods,
we have recreated on the leather the various parts that put together make up the "VERONA" model bag.
What you see in the picture is the first result obtained.
Once we had drawn all the shapes that interested us, we started cutting the straps first,
and then, using a set square or a ruler, all the various leather parts.
The customer ordered two identical panniers from us, so we did a double job in parallel.

We have chosen genuine leather in tan color for the interior trim.
To be fixed to the bike, the bag requires steel plates perforated in certain points. So to do a clean job internally
too, after gluing the plate to the piece of leather that will be fixed to the motorcycle frame, we covered it with
the genuine leather chosen.
When it came time to fix the buckles, we made use of rivets, more commonly called studs
and a hand press to tighten the bolts well.
While the flap has been finished externally with a leather border,
glued and then machined with double stitching.
We then added two loops for the straps. These are also fixed with rivets.
At this point we also machined the shoulder of the bag to fix the steel plate well to the leather and genuine leather.

After heating the stamp properly, we brought it back to the leather.
Attention to detail is the thing that makes the difference in handcrafted products.
Every time you go to buy a product handmade by a craftsman, pay attention to it.
No professional will deliver you a rough job, but very often in a hurry we tend to skip some small
steps that seem like nothing, but which make a big difference.
At this point we proceeded to assemble the various sides of the bag, binding them together
by machine with tone-on-tone thread.
This is the final result, an elegant, comfortable and quite rock bag ;-)

Made with careful attention to detail and a precision that is impossible to achieve in the factory.
For this reason, the construction costs are higher, also because the time taken is certainly much greater.
