An Italian Lambretta on the road

Filippo and Francesca are two riders, two guys who are passionate about travel. United by an adventurous soul, they are always looking for new stimuli and new challenges to overcome. Their mission is to go around the world in two with a 1969 Lambretta, spreading Made in Italy everywhere.

When they contacted me to redo the saddle of their Lambretta, I must admit that the project immediately enthused me, and not a little.

Bringing Made in Italy back to leather, the idea of travel, the concept of "globe traveller", immediately piqued my creativity. And we know that when a project grabs you, the result cannot fail to be at the best of your potential.

Below is the work documented by some photos.

As soon as it arrived, the saddle looked like in the photo. A raw frame without rubber frame and padding.

We rebuilt the rubber frame, typical of this type of saddle (Vespa and Lambretta) and made all the padding from scratch, widening it laterally by about 5 centimeters, to increase the seating surface.

In the photo a detail of the hand stitching of the rubber structure.

At the top you can see the front part of the saddle, and at the bottom the detail during the working of the padding.

5.jpg

I chose the Italian flag quilted on the side of the saddle with the intention of emphasizing the MADE IN ITALY that the two riders intend to export around the world.

6.jpg

Vertically you can see the carriageway of a road, which leads to a roundabout with the world in the centre.

For the more curious, I report the link of their Instagram profile: wildrideonlambretta and a video taken from their page.
